Monster eBook giveaway! Free Silly Monsters eBook and free coloring-in picture download!
I am scheduling a free kindle eBook giveaway of Silly Monsters ABC for this Friday and Saturday, 27th and 28th of April.
Note: FREE offer now expired, but do check back. More books will be offered free every month.
Here is a selection of quotes from the reviews on amazon.com:
"This is among the very best of the children's books for Kindle that I have seen."
"BRILLIANT kids ABC book! . . . VERY creative text - I could read this book a million times over and never get tired of it."
"Cute little book. Very creative monsters. The descriptive words are sure to expand your child's vocabulary. My son enjoyed it."
"It is very well formatted for Kindle, both black and white and color (much better than the average Kindle picture book). "
"I've read quite a few of Gerald Hawksley's picture books and like the others this one is a lot of fun to read. ... Simply a book that is lot of fun, even as a fun read for adults who already know their alphabet."
You can sample the first few pages by using my Silly Monster Online eReading Device below.
(Unless you are browsing with IE6, in which case it won't work.)
And here is a picture of a hairy hipparoo from the book for you to color in!
Go to the download page and right-click or ctrl-click (Mac) to save to your computer. Then you can either color it in with crayons or markers, or open it in a paint program on your computer and color it in digitally!

Another Experiment!
I am trying my own eBook sampler. Don't know if it works or not. Press the little arrows under the pictures to go back and forth. Needs a bit of tweaking, and prob. doesn't work in all browsers.

Another free kindle children's picture book!
Note: FREE offer now expired, but do check back. More books will be offered free every month.
Maisy Daniels, who lives in a small cottage on the other side of the river Snood with her cat, Doggerel, is a very good friend of mine. I recently published her book Horse and Hen Count to Ten on the Kindle. Now we are offering it FREE via amazon for two days starting tomorrow, April 17th.
The Lost Art of the Elf bottle
The Lost Art of the Elf Bottle
Of course, in the olden days, everyone used to communicate by elf bottle. You spoke into the elf's magic bottle, which he would then deliver to whomever you chose for sixpence. The words sometimes got muddled up en route, but that was part of the charm.
Nowadays, when everything is done by steam engines and electric string it is easy to forget what life was like in our grandparents' day.

One afternoon at half past four
One afternoon,
At half past four,
A ghost came
Knocking at my door.
"How nice of you
To visit me!
Have some cake!
Have some tea!"

Little Star Books
Little Star Books is a little eBook publishing venture I have embarked upon with celebrated children's book author and editor, Moira Butterfield. We are just publishing to Amazon's Kindle at the moment. Our first two titles are now live. (In fact one of them is downloadable for free
right now (April 2nd and 3rd))
The two titles are: My Happy Book
and My Busy Book
